OUR STORY

Hey there! We are Ayisha Issa & David Thompson, presidents and instructors @4PointsBJJ.
Together we have combined 25 years of experience in BJJ coming out of Brazilian Top Team in Montreal as both international competitors and instructors. With our backgrounds in Film & TV, Science, Technology and Design, we set out to conceptualize and create a unique experience and community within the landscape of Toronto.

Settling in Toronto's Midtown neighbourhood of Leaside, we took an idea, a vision & a dream and committed to turning it into something we could share with everyone. Infused with a bit of our Montreal flair, 4POINTS is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy, an Actor Studio, a Kids Club and a Family, that continues to grow and evolve with each new member.

The idea started on Laird in September of 2016. Nine months later, we gave birth to the 4Points Clubhouse: a not-so secret training bunker hidden in the heart of the Bayview Village. We converted an old dry-cleaning warehouse into a 2000 sqft. training facility and clubhouse to better serve our growing community. With David's background in engineering & handyman skills, and Ayisha's background in design and project execution, we are proud to say a large majority of the work has been done by ourselves and our students.

At 4POINTS CLUBHOUSE we:

  • We teach BJJ to Kids, Teens and Adults offering each student with optimal learning and growth on-and-off the mats.

  • We specialize in beginners and provide them with a curriculum that is easy to assimilate.

  • We shape and evolve our curriculums to constantly meet the changing needs of our students.

  • We create spaces for all family members on our clubhouse while providing a clean, happy environment.

  • We build personal relationships with our community members to better understand and help them in meeting their personal goals.

  • We design all BJJ and fitness apparel in-house inviting our students to creativity.

  • We offer private teaching, summer camps and other friendly-family events in Midtown Toronto.

  • We provide training, courses, workshops, acting services and guidance for new and established actors.

All that we do, is to be able to shape our members in practical life skills while fostering self-confidence, perseverance and leadership.
